Villa landscaping in Dubai: designed, then built by one team.
Gardens people actually live in: designed around how you want to use the space, priced line by line, then delivered under Montera’s management with irrigation and lighting that hold up in the heat.
Book the free 48h visitWe start at the site: orientation, shade, levels, how you want to move through and use the garden. The design follows from that: soft and hard landscaping resolved together, with a clear scope and a fair price.
Planting is chosen for Dubai’s climate and the way you’ll maintain it, and backed by irrigation designed to keep it alive through summer. We build it ourselves, so the design intent survives to handover.
What villa landscaping in Dubai has to get right
Most villa gardens that fail do so underneath. Dubai sand drains fast and holds nothing, so planting beds need imported soil; paving that is laid on a poor base lifts and rocks within a couple of summers; and a garden without proper falls sends the first heavy rain towards the house. We set the levels, the drainage and the sub-base first, because every finish that goes on top depends on them.
The climate does the rest of the editing. Planting is chosen for heat, wind and, near the coast, salt; irrigation is designed by zone with a proper tank and controller, not a timer on a tap; and shade goes where people actually sit in the late afternoon. A garden that looks right in March and burns in July was designed for the wrong month.
How we design a villa garden
A designer comes to the villa within 48 hours. We measure the plot, note the orientation and the sun path, look at what is worth keeping (mature trees usually are) and ask how you want to live in the garden: where you eat, where the children play, what guests see first, where the service route runs.
Seven days later you have the design with visuals and a bill of quantities priced line by line, then a walk through the finished garden in Montera Preview at full scale. Levels, sightlines, shade and paving colours are settled there, while changing them costs a conversation rather than materials.
Hardscape and planting, as one design
Paving, steps, terraces, planters, lawn, planting, irrigation and lighting are drawn as one set, so the joins work: the terrace meets the threshold at the right level, the irrigation runs under the paving before it is laid, the lighting cables are in before the planting. When one contractor does the paving and another the garden, those joins are where the disputes start.
We publish the rates we build at on our cost guide (porcelain paving laid at AED 160 per square metre with the tile supplied separately, porcelain steps at AED 235, an interlock driveway at AED 145) so the hardscape in your quote can be checked line by line.
What a villa garden costs
A villa garden is priced from your own plot, line by line, after the free visit, not a number on a web page. Whether the brief is a whole garden, front and back, or a single area done properly, such as a back garden or a courtyard, the figure comes from your plot: its levels, its access, the pool and what you specify. The laying rates and what moves a figure are set out on the cost guide.
How long a villa garden takes
A single area is typically six to ten weeks on site. A whole villa garden is usually three to five months, longer where a pool or an authority approval sets the programme. The programme is on your tracker from the first day, with photographs at every stage and the money shown against the bill of quantities.
When we are not the right fit
For small work (a lawn refresh, a few new plants, routine upkeep) a maintenance firm will serve you better than a design-and-build contractor, and we would rather say so here than after a visit.
Landscape design in Dubai, and what you actually receive
Landscape design is the part that decides everything after it: where the levels sit, where the water goes, where the shade falls, what the garden costs. Ours is done by the people who then build it, so a detail is never drawn that the site cannot deliver, and the drawing set is never handed over a wall to a contractor who priced something else.
What you receive is a design with visuals, a bill of quantities priced line by line, and a Montera Preview walk of the finished garden at full scale, seven days after a designer has been at your villa. Landscape design companies in Dubai that stop at the drawing leave the hardest question, what it costs to build, for later. Ours answers it in the same pack.
Garden design and garden landscaping: the same job, different words
People search for garden design, garden landscaping and villa landscape design and mean roughly the same thing: a garden that works, drawn before it is built. We treat them as one job, because splitting them is where villa gardens go wrong: a garden designed by one firm and landscaped by another meets at the levels, the drainage and the irrigation, and those joins belong to nobody.
So the garden design and the garden landscaping are one contract: one survey, one drawing set, one priced bill of quantities, one team planting it. If you only want the drawings, say so at the visit and we will tell you honestly whether that serves you.
Questions we get asked
Do you design and build, or only design?
Both, as one contract. Montera coordinates the design, itemised pricing and construction, so the design intent survives to handover and there is one party responsible.
What does villa landscaping cost in Dubai?
It is priced from your own plot, line by line, after the free visit, not a number on a web page. Whether it is a whole garden or a single area done properly, the figure comes from your plot: its levels, its access, the pool and what you specify. Our per-square-metre laying rates are published on the cost guide so you can check the hardscape line by line.
Can you keep our existing trees?
Usually, and we prefer to. Mature trees are hard to replace; we lay out the terrace, paths and services around their root zones.
Do you handle the community NOC?
Yes. Drawings and submissions for the community NOC, and any authority permit for a structure or pool, are part of the job.
Do you work in Abu Dhabi as well as Dubai?
Yes. Saadiyat, Yas, Jubail Island, Al Shamkha and the other Abu Dhabi villa communities, with the same team and the same promises.
Can you design around a pool we are adding later?
Yes, and it is worth doing: we fix the pool position, the levels and the service routes now, so the pool goes in later without breaking the new garden.
What is the difference between landscape design and garden landscaping?
In practice, none that matters to you: one is the drawing, the other is the building, and we do both on one contract. Splitting them across two firms is where the levels, the drainage and the irrigation stop being anyone’s responsibility.
Who is responsible for the landscape design?
Montera is responsible for the design and coordinates it with the construction. Professional design and engineering oversight inform the drawings, specifications and checks through to handover.

What it costs
Real rates from our own priced jobs, and what actually moves the number: the Dubai cost guide, and swimming pool costs.
When you compare quotes, compare what they include, not just the number. The cheapest price on a page is usually the one that leaves out the ground, the prep or the parts you never see, and that is where a job fails.
